What Is Deathpop Music? The History of Deathpop (Part 1)

Deathpop is a sub-genre of Synth Rock, to place it in its simplest terms.

Synth Rock, then, is rock music generated by electronic instruments. In the late 90's, in attempting to describe his new fashion of music, Paige Haley coined the term "Deathpop" to describe his band, Orgy. Using the components currently in put in its mother genre of Synth Rock, it also combined New Wave, Glam, Goth, Metal, New Romantic and Option Rock.

The appear of Deathpop artists was a mixture of Cyber-culture with Glam and New Romantic style. It was the Option appear for the late 90's, throwing out ripped jeans and flannel in favor of shiny leather, make-up, and it place colour into the mix of plain-black gothic appears.

The 1st Wave of Deathpop took put involving 1997 and 2001. It all centered about and began with Orgy.
